Ranking Guides

The legal ranking guides were and remain a most significant source of information for potential and existing clients, as well as for candidates – associates, partners, and legal interns – who seek a law firm that will be capable of addressing their diverse range of needs.

In recent years legal ranking guides stepped-up their game both professionally as well as in terms of the information they cover, and nowadays, these guides allow one to compare between different law firms, review each firm’s practice areas, and obtain an impression of the clients and transactions handled by each firm. The legal ranking guides further provide an expression of opinion about individually ranked lawyers in each legal field of practice.

Submitting by yourself – is it worthwhile?

As with anything in life, the answer to this question, like a coin, has two sides.

On the one hand, the answer is in the affirmative, since lawyers, by nature, are well versed in the art of legal writing and its terminology.

On the flip side of the coin, lawyers must also be well equipped with the ability to aptly show-case their work in a non-legal and marketable language.

The preparation of an optimal submission for a legal ranking guide enfolds considerable time investment as well as constant learning of the various and ever-changing demands and limitations of each legal guide, of which there are many.

Preparing a submission for a legal ranking guide, be it an Israeli ranking guide or an international one consists of a repeated yearly long process and includes the ongoing and highly focused collection and analysis of intra-organizational information, drawing conclusions from prior rankings and applying them to future ones, building a consistent history of submissions, optimal exploitation of interviews with guide researchers and much more.

  3. Client feedback on the nature of the legal service they received from the law firm and, specific lawyers.
